4. Visit Piazza Mercanti
There are many squares and piazzas in Milan. A huge square Piazza Duca d’Aosta which is located in front of the main railway station, the Piazza della Scala and the Piazza Dumo are all great places to stop. However, if you want to soak up real antique flavor of Milan, you should visit Piazza Mercanti. Built in 1228, Piazza Mercanti used to be the political and commercial center of the city and it’s reflected in the statues and buildings of the square and the surrounding streets.
