8. Topkapi Palace
Located in Istanbul, this large palace was the residence of the Ottoman sultans from 1465-1856. Previously a royal residence, the palace is now a major tourist attraction, as it contains some important relics of the Muslim culture, such as Muhammed’s sword and cloak. The structure also includes examples of Ottoman architecture as well as large collections of weapons, porcelain, robes, murals, and Islamic calligraphic manuscripts.
