If all of the same old travel locations start sounding boring to you, check out these great and exciting travel locations that will provide you with the extreme activities specially designed to get your heart racing as quick as possible. So, if you like traveling and breathtaking views and you really want an adrenaline rush, here are a few thrilling travel locations you might want to visit this year.
1. Cedar Point Amusement Park, Sandusky, OH
Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH is a must-see for all adrenaline junkies! Known as “America’s Roller Coast” it features 72 rides, including 16 roller coasters. For the past 15 years, Cedar Point has been named the “Best Amusement Park in the World”, and it’s no wonder! It’s the only amusement park in the globe with 4 roller coasters taller than 200 feet. Top Thrill Dragster is one of my personal favorites! It shoots upward with the speed of 120 miles per hour reaching a 420 feet hill, before falling at the same 90-degree fall. So exciting!
2. Interlaken, Switzerland
If you enjoy canyon diving, skydiving and paragliding, you should definitely visit Interlaken, Switzerland. It boasts the most exciting, extreme activities, and the most thrilling views of the Swiss Alps. Just imagine jumping out of a plane, seeing the breathtaking view of Interlaken!
For those who don’t know anything about Interlake here is a little information. Interlaken is a town situated on the Bödeli, between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. It’s a popular tourist destination in the Bernese Oberland region, just in the heart of the Swiss Alps. It’s also the major transport gateway to the lakes and mountains of that region. Interlaken is really worth a visit, and I will certainly go there again.
An island country in the Indian Ocean, Madagascar is another great exciting travel location. As a result of the long isolation of the island from the neighboring continents, Madagascar is a home to numerous animals and plants found nowhere else in the world. About 90 percent of all species found on this island are endemic, including the carnivorous fossa, the lemurs and some birds.
Sure it’s not a great tourist location, but it still offers plenty of extreme activities, such as paragliding, skydiving, and cliff diving. Who knows, maybe you will even find yourself being the only one enjoying the breathtaking scenes of Madagascar?!
4. New Zealand
An island country situated in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, New Zealand comprises 2 main landmasses ‒ the South Island and the North Island ‒ and a great number of smaller islands. New Zealand has something to offer every adrenaline junkie.
If you are keen on paragliding, then you need to go to New Zealand. This picturesque location offers white water rafting, skydiving, mountain biking, and much more. It’s also home to Kawaru Bridge, the first bungee jumping site in the world. If you decide to go to New Zealand, make sure you take a ride on Nevis Swing, the highest swing in the globe.
The mountainous north of Nepal boasts 8 of 10 tallest mountains in the world, including Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth. In fact, Nepal is packed with amazing tourist attractions. And it’s certainly one of the best travel locations for adrenaline junkies!
Nepal offers you a great opportunity to go paragliding, hiking, spelunking, rafting, and much more. And if you want a unique and enriching experience, arrange for a trek to Mount Everest, which can range from one to even three weeks long.
With a notable combination of cosmopolitan culture and nature, Québec remains one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations. You can take a gondola ride or discover one of the finest and largest urban parks in the world, the Plains, perfect for all types of activities, from cycling, walking, picnicking to cross-country skiing and many more.
Quebec offers a unique experience that sets it apart from the other thrilling travel locations for adrenaline junkies. Nowadays some locations in Quebec even offer excellent dog sledding as a tour. This should surely be on the bucket list of every adrenaline junkie.
While many travel locations offer almost the same activities, the breathtaking travel location, Nicaragua offers volcano boarding, a really once in a lifetime experience! Nicaragua boasts over 40 volcanoes and it is the perfect place for volcano boarding. I’d say it’s very similar to dune boarding, but it’s down the side of an active volcano.
If volcano boarding is not for you, Nicaragua also offers horseback riding, kayaking, scuba diving, and kite surfing. Unfortunately, many people skip this place, but consider visiting Nicaragua and you won’t regret it!
8. The Macau Tower, China
How about bungee jumping from the Macau Tower? The Macau Tower is the second highest bungee jumping tower in the world. Its height is 1109 feet (338 meters). Although the views are breathtaking, they are also terrifying. Just imagine, you are dropping several feet from the steel tower with the cars and buses driving beneath you! I think it is enough to frighten even the bravest adrenaline junkies!
If you are not ready to jump, there are some other options. For instance, walk around the perimeter of the Macau tower on the rim. You can also try a Tower Climb, that’s even higher than the bungee. The Macau Tower is definitely one of the best places for true adrenaline junkies!
9. Tavarua, Fiji
If you want to get your adrenaline on the water, Tavarua is just a perfect place! In fact, there are not so many places in the world, which are remote and filled with huge waves like Fiji. Surrounded by a coral reef, Tavarua is a heart-shaped island resort situated off the Western coast of Fiji near Momi.
There are 7 major surfing breaks which are available to visitors staying at the island resort. The most famous are Restaurants and Cloudbreak (a 200-300 yard ride right off the island). I don’t actually consider myself a true adrenaline junkie, but I really want to visit Tavarua!
All these travel locations offer something unique that will definitely entice the ultimate adrenaline junkie. Are you an adrenaline junkie? Does these travel locations sound appealing to you? What other thrilling travel locations have you been to? Share your thoughts, please!
